Maker Video: Canvas Fabric Material Printed on Flatbed UV Printer and Framed for Wall Painting Decorations

The video below shows us the step by step process of printing on canvas fabric material on a flatbed using a UV printer. The finished product (i.e. wall painting) is framed and serves as wall deco.

Canvas is a plain-woven fabric and has multiple functions due to its diverse and durable qualities
It is also popularly used by artists as a painting surface. Is usually stretched across a wooden frame.
Listed below are the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Canvas material.

Advantages of canvas

• It is tough and long lasting
• It prints colours well
• The material is washable
• It is receptive to chemical treatments to enhance its natural properties. Treatments include increasing water resistance, flame retardation and resistance to mildew.
• Treated canvas is long-lasting and it does not require a lot of maintenance.

Disadvantages of canvas

•The manufacturing procedure involves the usage of a lot of chemicals. Therefore, it is not deemed eco-friendly.
• Does not have a lot of drape.
