Sublimation Printed Bow Tie Gifts in Customised Printed Paper Box by Laser Cutting
There are many times of the year where we want to give those around us gifts. But it’s not just about the gifts themselves; it’s about making them memorable with thoughtful, creative packaging. This guide will take you through the steps of crafting a personalized bow tie gift and a bespoke box to package it in—an effort that’s sure to impress.
Step 1: Choosing the Perfect Pattern and Colors
When creating a custom bow tie, start with the design. Festive colours like blue, red, and orange are popular choices, but why choose one when you can combine them? Opt for a pattern that represents the season’s cheer. Since the bow tie’s shape will stand out, you can skip elaborate patterns and focus on vibrant colours instead.
Once you’ve chosen your colours, save the design for sublimation printing and heat pressing. This will ensure a polished, professional finish.
Step 2: Designing the Perfect Box
Packaging plays a crucial role in enhancing the gift’s appeal. To create your custom box:
Pick a Box Style: Use free online tools to select the shape of your box. Options range from rectangles and squares to cones and hexagons. For this project, a shallow rectangular box was chosen.
Set Dimensions: Input the dimensions for your box (e.g., length: 150 mm, depth: 80 mm, and height: 20 mm). Download the resulting template as a PDF.
Prepare for Cutting: Convert the template to a DXF or SVG file, ensuring clean cut lines by grouping all elements. This prevents the laser cutter from misinterpreting your design.
Save and Cut: Save the design to a USB stick or transfer it directly to your cutter.
Step 3: Adding a Festive Touch
To make your packaging even more unique, print a design on the cardboard before cutting it:
Choose a Repeating Pattern: A simple, repetitive design works best for packaging, as it doesn’t require alignment or specific orientation. Save this design as a JPEG.
UV Printing: Print the pattern directly onto the cardboard using a UV printer.
Laser Cutting: Once printed, use the laser cutter to cut out your box.
Step 4: Assembling the Box
To assemble the box:
Score the cardboard along the fold lines using a ruler and the back of a knife for precision.
Apply double-sided tape to the edges, fold along the scored lines, and secure the box into shape.
Add finishing touches like tissue paper inside the box and a personalized label outside.
Step 5: The Final Touch
With your custom bow tie and bespoke box complete, you’ve created a gift that’s both thoughtful and stylish. Packaging transforms even simple gifts into cherished gestures, making the festive season all the more special.
From handcrafted bow ties to personalised packaging, the effort you put into your gifts is what makes them truly unforgettable.
Let this be your inspiration to make something extraordinary for your loved ones this year. Happy crafting and gifting!
