Laser Engrave Weekly White Board with Fridge Magnet by TruCUT RDWorks CNC Laser Machine
Today, we embark on a creative journey as we craft a bespoke weekly planner for one of our clients. Utilizing the versatile material of perspex and the precision of a CO2 Laser Cutting Machine sold by AM.CO.ZA, we aim to produce a stunning A3-sized weekly planner with magnets, segmented from Monday to Sunday for optimal organisation. Join us as we delve into the process from design to completion!
Design Phase:
As with any project, our journey begins with the design phase. In this instance, Photoshop serves as our initial canvas. We craft the layout to perfection, ensuring clarity and functionality. Once satisfied, the design is seamlessly transferred into AI (Adobe Illustrator) for vectorization, a crucial step to ensure scalability without loss of quality.
Preparation for Laser Cutting:
With the design ready, we transition into RDWorks, the software facilitating our laser cutting endeavours. Here, meticulous attention is paid to detail. Each segment of the design is assigned a specific colour, a critical step in the laser-cutting process. Our focus primarily lies on engraving rather than cutting, given that the perspex sheets are already sized to our desired A3 dimensions.
Laser Cutting Process:
Setting the parameters is crucial for achieving the desired outcome. With the speed meticulously set to 330 m/s and the maximum power output adjusted accordingly.
Mirror Imaging:
A crucial step often overlooked is mirror imaging. By flipping the design, we ensure that upon application, the weekly planner displays the intended orientation. This simple yet essential manoeuvre guarantees coherence in the final product.
Laser Cutting:
We are now ready to initiate the laser cutting process with a CO2 Laser Machine from AM.CO.ZA. A symphony of precision unfolds as the laser dances across the perspex, etching our design with unparalleled accuracy.
Finishing Touches:
Once the engraving is complete, we need to remove the backing tape, give the perspex a wipe down and glue on the magnets. The weekly planner is now ready to be tested out using a marker and then simply placing the planner on the fridge.
Conclusion:
As the journey draws to a close, we reflect on the seamless fusion of creativity and technology that brought this project to fruition. Crafting customized weekly planners is not merely a task but an art form, requiring precision, innovation, and a keen eye for detail. We hope this glimpse into our process has inspired and enlightened you. Until next time, stay creative, stay inspired, and let your imagination soar.
